Role Overview 

In our pursuit to make quality education accessible around the world, the School Group (SG) is seeking a Curriculum Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will oversee curriculum projects, support the instructional design and development of courses, and support faculty by facilitating instructional training. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Curriculum Development  

  • Present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options. 

  • Define instructional, learning, or performance objectives. 

  • Develop instructional materials and products for technology-based redesign of courses, including syllabi, instructional guides, graphics, assessments and interactive media elements. 

  • Design learning products, including Web-based aids or electronic performance support systems. 

  • Provide analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, or courseware standards. 

  • Partner with multiple constituents such as Curriculum Committees, Program Advisory Committees, faculty, and subject matter experts to develop and launch new programs. 

  • Research new technologies and learning initiatives to inform existing and future program offerings. 

  • Training 

  • Design, develop and facilitate faculty training in the use of instructional technology tools as it relates to SG’s program offerings. 

  • Compliance and Accreditation 

  • Evaluate curriculum to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and program accreditation standards. 

  • Ensure continued understanding of accreditation obligations through ongoing professional development and training. 

  • Project Management 

  • Oversee planning and execution of multiple projects on time and within budget. 

  • Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholder and appropriate allocation of resources. 

  • Develop mechanism to track project progress; prepare status reports for the Executive Leadership Team.

  • Add positions consulted for this role, both internal and external. Also include direct reports, if any, and level of supervision. 

 

 

Qualifications 

Basic 

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field. 

  • Two years’ experience in curriculum development/instructional design, preferably in higher education.  

  • Experience in educational/instructional technology software, eLearning technology platforms, web conference tools, and multimedia development software. 

  • An in-depth knowledge of learning theory and instructional design models. 

  • Experienced in selecting training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for learning objectives. 

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of trends in technology and education. 

  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills. Adept in both, long term planning and day to day progress tracking and execution. 

  • Prior success in taking ownership and delivering results, including delivering large scale projects end to end, through the entire life-cycle. 

  • Active listening skills. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. 

  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and speaking so others will understand. 

  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others. 

  • Availability to attend meetings and training events, which may include travel. 

 

Preferred 

  • E-learning/distance education experience preferred.
